Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract
In India, Ashwagandha has been used for more than 3000 years. In Ayurvedic medicine, the traditional health system in India, Ashwagandha is used alone and in combination with other herbs. Ashwagandha helps balance the nervous system, promotes a healthy tolerance to stress and supports the adrenal glands and a strong immune system. Ashwagandha is a class of plants called adaptogens. Adaptogens are a unique class of healing plants. They help balance, restore and protect the body. Calm + Clear uses Ashwagandha root extract standardized to 2.5% withanolides.
Bacopa (Bacopa monnieri) herb extract
Bacopa, also called water hyssop, is an ancient herb from India that has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine. In this system, it’s been used to promote a healthy stress response and support concentration. Modern research has confirmed Bacopa’s benefits. In a 12-week clinical trial in volunteers 65 years old and older, participants taking Bacopa experienced significant health benefits (J Altern Complement Med. 2008;14(6):707-713). Calm + Clear uses Bacopa herb extract standardized to 20% bacosides.
GABA
Gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA) is your nervous system’s most abundant relaxation molecule—it functions as a neurotransmitter that slows nerve impulses and helps regulate the “calm and connect'' parasympathetic response. While your body naturally produces GABA, a deficiency can create chronic hyperarousal and insomnia. Hops (Humulus lupulus) flower
