Receive forms and results by email

As a courtesy to our customers, we provide an option for you to receive test order forms and test results by email. This service is free and optional. If you check the “I want to receive forms and results by email” box, we will email test order forms and test results to the email address listed on the Test Customer form. If you don’t want to receive these emails, do not check the box. 

The US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) act defines the rules and standards for protecting health information. Emails we send comply with HIPAA regulations. However, because each email provider decides whether or not they will implement HIPAA security guidelines, we cannot guarantee once the email reaches your email server that it will still comply with HIPAA security regulations.

While no electronic communication is 100% secure, if your email service is not HIPAA compliant, there is an increased risk that your test order form or test results could be viewed by an unauthorized person. To know if your email service is HIPAA compliant, you will need to contact them directly. 

Whether or not you opt-in to receive these emails, you will still be able to access your order forms and test results. During checkout, once you pay for a test a link to download the order form will appear in your web browser. The order form and the test results, once completed, will also be available for download from within your NBI account as PDF files.

If you ever want to change your selection to opt-in or opt-out of receiving emails, or edit Test Customer information, you can do so within your NBI account.
