Candida Albicans Antibodies (IgG, IgA, IgM)
Candidiasis is a fungal infection most commonly caused by the Candida ablicans yeast. It can cause local or systemic disease and symptoms. In severe cases, candidiasis can be life threatening. Infection can result in increases in immune proteins called antibodies. This test detects three different antibodies against Candida.
Elevated IgG can be indicative of past or ongoing infections.
Elevated IgA antibodies may reflect a more superficial Candida infection.
Elevated IgM reflects a current infection.
